As a floral designer, I have had the privilege of working in some of the most beautiful venues, but few compare to the picturesque Lahontan Golf Club in Truckee, California. This stunning gated community holds a special place in my heart, not just for its breathtaking scenery but because it is where my family and I call home. When I was hired to create the florals for a wedding at Lahontan, I didn't reveal my personal connection to the location until after the contract was signed. It was a delightful surprise for my clients to learn that their florist knew the venue as intimately as they did.

Working with this particular couple was an absolute joy from start to finish. Sometimes in this industry, you meet clients who become more than just clients; they become friends. This was certainly the case with this bride and her entire family. Our initial meetings were filled with laughter and a shared vision for their special day, and our bond grew stronger with each planning session. It was one of those rare, heartwarming experiences where professional relationships seamlessly transform into cherished friendships.

The ceremony itself was a feast for the eyes, set against the natural beauty of Lahontan's backyard forest. The altar, completely covered in a cascade of flowers, was a breathtaking focal point that perfectly encapsulated the couple's romantic vision. The harmony between the natural surroundings and the meticulously arranged florals created a truly magical atmosphere.

The bridesmaids looked stunning in their unique dresses from the designer Zimmerman, each dress complementing the floral arrangements beautifully.

The reception was a continuation of the ceremony’s elegance, with blush and white centerpieces that perfectly complemented the bride's vision for an intimate backyard wedding. Each floral arrangement was carefully crafted to enhance the beauty of the setting without overshadowing it. The soft hues of the centerpieces added a touch of romance and sophistication, seamlessly blending with the natural landscape and the joyous occasion.

The wedding was an intimate celebration, filled with personal touches that reflected the couple's love story. With a limited number of family and friends in attendance, the event felt warm and personal, creating an atmosphere of closeness and camaraderie. From heartfelt speeches to lively dancing, every moment was filled with joy and laughter. It was an honor to be a part of such a special day in a place that means so much to me, surrounded by a community I love. This wedding at Lahontan Resort was more than just a job; it was a celebration of love, friendship, and the beauty of home.
